Austin, Texas, May 7th 2006. Don't miss our largest program of the year with a performing company of dancers and musicians as we bring to life Puerto Rico's past with the rich "Musica de los 40s," a musical style Rafael Hernandez and Bobby Capo made famous! Come with us back to the early 20th century for a Sunday afternoon at the Plaza, when the sounds of street vendors' "pregones" filled the air and friends danced and sang and enjoyed eating piraguas (fruit flavored shaved-ice cones)! Admission, Reserved seating, $15 Adults.
$10 Children 12 & under, lap children free (2 & under). Purchase
without service fee by visiting the Theatre Box Office, or order from
GetTix by phone (866) 443-8849 or buy online: Puerto Rican Folkloric Dance's largest performance of the year is sponsored in part by the National Endowment for the Arts, the City of Austin through the Cultural Arts Division, the Texas Arts Commission on the Arts, the Institute of Puerto Rican Culture, IBM, and many private and industry sponsors.
