Puerto Rican striped-headed tanager, Spindalis portoricensis, male. Toro Negro State Forest, Central Highlands, Puerto Rico. The genus Spindalis is almost an Antillean endemic, since the four species live in the Greater Antilles, the Bahamas and, outside the Caribbean region, only in the continental island of Cozumel, off the eastern coast of Mexico.
